Since Bank of the Philippine Islands is pretty much everywhere in Phil
and they have online express service, I thought they would be an ideal
bank for some of you to consider for bank to bank transfer set up. I
wrote to my BPI Expressonline Manager and asked the question many of
you are asking... what about bank to bank transfers to and from the
USA. Here is his answer:
You may transfer funds from a US bank account to a BPI account and vice versa. The remitter just has to go to any sending bank in the US.
Just be sure to include the following details in the remittance
instructions:
- beneficiary account number
- beneficiary account name
- BPI swift code (BOPIPHMM)
- that the beneficiary account is a peso account
Please note that BPI charges services fees for incoming remittances.
Below are the fees which will be deducted from your remittance before
it gets credited to your account:
Direct Credit to Peso Account:
Php150.00 Service Charge
+ Php10.00 Postage
+ Documentary Stamps: Php0.30 for every Php200 and a fraction
thereof
In addition, the sending bank may also collect fees on their end.
